Assistant Project Manager at the Deccan Heritage Foundation
Saicharan Palakurthi is the Assistant Project Manager at the Deccan Heritage Foundation India. As an Art Conservation Scientist, he has worked on heritage conservation projects in Italy, France, Malta, and India. His work includes scientific analysis of architectural and object-based heritage, and research on Pre-Hispanic stelae at the Mayan site of Oxpemul, Mexico, in collaboration with National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) ISAC-CNR (Italy) and Universidad Autónoma de Campeche (UACM).
At DHF, he manages conservation projects and coordinates the Deccani Studies Program—an immersive, interdisciplinary course engaging global students and scholars with the Deccan’s rich heritage. He is also associated with ICOMOS India, ICCROM Italia, and has experience in digital media and heritage documentation.
Charan holds degrees in Civil Engineering, History, and a Research Master’s in Conservation Science from the University of Bologna, Italy, along with a diploma in Digital Media-Journalism.
